Dinner

5pm on a somewhat windy Tuesday afternoon.  It is the second week of May.  The weather tries to turn Summer but can't quite rid of Spring yet.  The restless energy carried out by the wind blows over everything that's not grounded.

Expecting Andy to come through the door within the next hour desperately looking for food after his Screen Writing class.   The lemon mustard marinate I used last time still has half a jar left over.  Some cauliflower and zucchini lay about on the kitchen counter.  2 pieces of chicken breasts in the fridge, defrosted since yesterday.  I thought I'd bring resolution to all this uncertainties.

veggies roasted away in a 475 degree enclosed dry heat

Raw chicken is never a pretty sight I don't care how it's dressed

Timer set to 40 minutes.  Now....I shall sit down, watch an episode of some crime show.

40 minutes later, dinner is served:

The kitchen smells fantastic and the flavor ..... Andy approved!!

Order of growth

Went walking at 6:05am this morning.  Again, without Olive (Olive and I went for a walk last night).  It's getting better.  I'd 'try' to make this a routine since making new habit seems to go against my grain but I know...I can rise up above that.  Just keep it simple.

Next thing, got my Stop_Watch Reflex game (written in Python code)  running.  I'm happy enough with the result that I actually went ahead submitted it.  It's a great idea to take classes.  I feel productive.   Here's what my Stop_Watch Reflex game looks like:
It's basically a stop watch that tracks how many times player hits the "Stop" button (6 times) and if the stop happened at a full second (1 time).

My trip to San Francisco today is cancelled.  I may pick back up the Algorithms class.  I got cross eyed every time the lecture gets to discussion of the order of growth, whether it's practical or common, I think I'll skip that for now and move to the next section.  Wish me luck!!

This turns my brain into oat meal

Watched Woody Allen's To Rome With Love last night, truly enjoyable.   Here's a link to the trailer -> To Rome With Love Trailer.  Along this line of thoughts, I must also mention 2 other movies about love and Italy.  They are:
1. Eat, Pray, Love (here's a link to the trailer ->  Eat, Pray, Love trailer)  if you are tempted, I strongly recommend reading the book or listening to the audio book like I did.  There are more, as always, in the book then in the movie.
2. Under the Tuscan Sun (here's a link to, appears to be, the entire length of the movie-> Under The Tuscan Sun)  Diane Lane is always lovely.

I need to add a couple more things...(I feel like one of those moms who can not let her child go...wait! I am one of those moms, not quite but almost.  I'll let me intelligence trump my emotion).  First, just got a call that my KYHC has been approved.  it will start in June.  Overjoyed!!  Second, I think I overdid in salt yesterday.  There are many sugar substitute products, even fat substitute products, what about salt substitute?!   And third, I will try to post in Chinese.   That's it for now.

Monday morning

Breakfast:  apple with peanut butter(I'm out of almond butter which I prefer), green tea and vitamins

Workout:  walking around the neighborhood streets

Olive did not come along for the walk as she usually does.  Today I wanted to walk faster and really listen to the audio book ("Head Space").  I know she understands.

So it begins

My first blog.

Picking a blog post name that is still available was not easy.  It reminded me of a saying "The good ones are already taken" as in the field of choosing spouse.

I found the below information on White Opal and Black Onyx stone from an internet search:

White Opal

White Opal is a stone of angelic connections. It is often used for clearing emotions to create more positive vibrations. It is useful in balancing all chakras.

The opal is said to be many things including the most powerful of healing stones, the stone of hope, the stone of great achievement and even the "stone of the Gods". Ancient Romans associated opal with hope and good luck.

Black Onyx

Onyx is known to separate. It can help release negative emotions such as sorrow and grief. It is used to end unhappy or bothersome relationships.

Onyx jewelry is worn to defend against negativity that is directed at you. Black stones have protective energies in the sense that black is the absence of light, and therefore, can be used to create invisibility.
  • Fortifies self confidence and responsibility
  • Sharpens your senses
  • Encourages a healthy egotism

I am not superstitious about these stones however, I do believe in the power of influences and intention.

Under the influences of these two gem stones, I will be posting some  thoughts that crossed my mind and interesting interactions I experienced with the world.
